ISTAT 2023: SURGE IN CERTIFICATIONS FOR QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENT. ISO 9001 AND 14001 CERTIFIED AUDITORS CRUCIAL
The concept of sustainability, which goes beyond the environmental sphere, is becoming increasingly central in every aspect. This is confirmed by data from the 2023 Istat Annual Report, which analyzed in detail the economic and social situation of our country during 2022.
In particular, the data contained in the Report, reveal that 36.4 percent of companies operating in the market services sector that are engaged in sustainability initiatives have also undertaken certification activities.
In detail, the most frequently certified management systems were those related to quality, in line with ISO 9001, which involved 24.2 percent of companies, followed by those for environmental management, in line with ISO 14001, which involved 23.7 percent of companies.
The boost to the areas of environmental and energy management has given more impetus to the activity of auditors and lead auditors qualified for ISO 9001 and 14001. And, in line with the Istat Annual Report 2023, certifying professionals are increasingly in demand as they can objectively demonstrate to their target market that they play an active role in sustainability initiatives.
Accredited skills certifications have a significant impact both directly and indirectly on the promotion of sustainable practices. This phenomenon is not a surprise and can be observed prominently in almost every sector covered by accreditation, with positive impact on issues such as environment and technology transition.
