New MIMIT Portal: Certified Companies and EGEs at the Center

The Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) has announced the opening of a new portal to access the incentives provided by the Fund for Supporting Industrial Transition, within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR – Investment M2C2 – 5.1, Sub-investment 1). This initiative offers Italian companies the opportunity to access financial resources to upgrade their production systems, focusing on energy efficiency, circular use of resources, and the reduction of environmental impact.

Applications can be submitted from 12:00 PM on September 17 until 12:00 PM on December 10, 2025, through the online platform managed by Invitalia.

Projects must meet at least one of the following objectives:

  • Improved energy efficiency in business operations;

  • Efficient use of resources, through reduced consumption also by means of reuse, recycling, or recovery of raw materials and/or the use of recycled raw materials.

TECHNICAL REPORT AND ELIGIBLE PROFESSIONALS
To be eligible for funding, it is mandatory to submit a technical report in the form of a sworn appraisal, prepared by certified Energy Management Experts (EGEs) according to UNI CEI 11339, issued by an accredited body specifically authorized for this purpose.

Other eligible professionals include:

  • Geologists, engineers, and industrial experts, as well as Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) certified according to UNI CEI 11352;

  • Legal representatives of the applicant company, but only if the investments fall within an energy management system already certified under UNI CEI EN ISO 50001 by an accredited body.

This requirement strengthens the importance of certified competencies as a guarantee of reliability, technical quality, and regulatory compliance.

THE CERTIFIED EGE: A STRATEGIC RESOURCE
Among the eligible professionals, the Energy Management Expert (EGE) plays a key role. Certification under UNI CEI 11339:2023, issued by accredited bodies such as RICEC International, confirms that the professional possesses the knowledge and skills required to assess energy consumption, identify efficiency solutions, and guide companies in their transition towards sustainable production models.

The EGE is a professional capable of integrating technical, economic, regulatory, and environmental aspects, making them the ideal partner for companies seeking access to MIMIT funds and pursuing innovation and environmental responsibility.

THE ROLE OF RICEC INTERNATIONAL
As an Accredia-accredited body, RICEC International ensures impartiality and technical rigor in skills certification. Relying on professionals certified by RICEC means benefiting from solid and recognized assessments, turning regulatory compliance into a competitive advantage for the company.

A CHOICE FOR THE FUTURE
The new MIMIT portal represents a concrete opportunity to accelerate the ecological and digital transition of the Italian production system. In this process, companies that choose to collaborate with EGEs certified by accredited bodies such as RICEC can ensure greater reliability for their initiatives and contribute to building a more innovative, sustainable, and competitive Italy.
