EGE Certification: What It Is, Benefits, and Why It Matters for Businesses in 2025

In 2023, Italy saved over 3.6 million tons of oil equivalent (Mtoe) thanks to energy efficiency measures, achieving 92% of the targets set by the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC).

More than half of these results came from tax incentives, while measures such as White Certificates and the Thermal Account delivered additional benefits, with billions of euros saved on energy bills and millions of tons of CO₂ avoided. In this context, the EGE (Expert in Energy Management), certified according to the UNI CEI 11339:2023 standard, plays a key role: it ensures specialized expertise, professional credibility, and access to incentives and public funds.

With more than €13 billion in tax credits available in 2024–2025 through the Transition Plan 5.0 and other funds linked to the NRRP, only a certified EGE can guarantee companies access to incentives and proper reporting of results.

How to Obtain EGE Certification in 2025

To become a certified EGE, candidates must complete an evaluation process that includes verification of educational qualifications, work experience, and technical skills. The exam, managed by accredited bodies such as RICEC International, consists of written and oral tests based on the UNI CEI 11339:2023 standard.

The certification is valid for five years and can be renewed by demonstrating continuous professional development and field practice. This process ensures that the Expert in Energy Management consistently maintains high standards and up-to-date skills, aligned with regulatory and technological developments.

The EGE certification issued by RICEC International is much more than a credential: it is a guarantee of quality, competence, and reliability. For companies, it means having a professional at their side capable of guiding safe and measurable investments; for professionals, it is a tool for growth and market recognition; for the country as a whole, it is a key factor in achieving energy and environmental goals.

In a context where efficiency and sustainability are strategic drivers, only an EGE certified by RICEC can turn theory into tangible results.
