Post Covid work increasingly needs competent professionals, and they need to be protected from the unskilled competition of improvised professionals, offering the market objective verification of the skills actually possessed.
In 2021, the number of management system certificates issued by accredited bodies to public and private organizations exceeded 150,000; a sizable 5.2% year-on-year increase. The pool of certified companies (identified by VAT numbers – tax codes) also grew by 1.7%, reaching 82,696 units.
Management system certifications are historically concentrated, based on the classification by certification standard, on UNI EN ISO 9001. However, the diffusion of the UNI EN ISO 14001 and UNI EN ISO 45001 schemes has grown a lot, reaching 29,181 and 26,252 sites respectively certificates.
The diffusion of certified management systems for the prevention of corruption (3,614 certified sites), for the management of energy (3,393 certified sites) and for the security of information (3,250 certified sites).
